I am working with a group of teachers in a district in PA this week. We are creating learning targets by deconstructing standards. These targets provide a road map for both students and teachers for the learning taking place in their classrooms. The intent is to post them on the walls for the students and teachers to use as references while learning and formative assessment for the learning at the end of each day. When used this way, they provide the meta-cognitive framework for learning that day. Here is the powerpoint I used. Take a look and see if it is a fit for you. They really work!
