How to recognize true learning - Courtesy of ASCD Smart Brief

Here is a great post discussing the importance of learning from one's mistakes and appopriate feed back.  Well worth the time to read it.

Veteran educator David Warlick reflects in this blog post on common traits that true learning experiences share. The experiences, he writes, are responsive, meaning that students receive feedback about what worked and what didn't. True learning also leads to conversation, which often is discouraged in the classroom, he writes, leading students to become invested in their own learning and allow for students to learn from their mistakes.
